The Opening Xbox Game Pass Titles of 2026 Show Xbox Isn't Giving Up Yet.

In numerous discussions, fans keep sounding the funeral bells for the Xbox brand. Microsoft's console just got outsold by a lesser-known competitor. Dedicated Xbox communities are now publishing content on PS5 topics unprecedentedly. The past year represented complete chaos for Xbox and Microsoft. Yet, based exclusively on the titles headed to the service in 2026, it becomes clear that Microsoft still intends to draw people in with compelling titles on its premier subscription.

The Current Inclusions

The two games that are immediately available as you read this, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, are not the headliners. Rather, it's what is coming to Game Pass in the coming weeks that's deserving of attention.

Upcoming Headline Games

On Jan. 13, the platform will add the often-overlooked Star Wars Outlaws, a vast exploration title that refreshes the standard Ubisoft formula with an intergalactic heist adventure. An additional significant inclusion is Resident Evil Village with its iconic tall vampire, previously described as "the perfect cocktail of frights and fights."

Compelling Indie Titles

Yet, the less-hyped additions coming to Game Pass soon deserve recognition. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, an unjustly ignored roguelite that is incredibly fun, drops on Jan. 7th — and it's worth experiencing even if you missed out on the first Lost in Random game.

The British post-apocalyptic game from last year might get its hooks in you in about 15 minutes flat.

Atomfall, the stealth survival game by Rebellion Developments, is another one to watch. Ultimate tier members also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to anticipate.

A Robust Selection of Games

Ultimately, these titles aren't industry-shaking releases to Game Pass, and they are also not first-party juggernauts that justify the service by themselves. But Microsoft's additions here are very dependable. There's a good mixture of old games you might have missed and fairly new titles that didn't get the attention they deserved the first time around — transforming them into excellent choices to get a second chance on Game Pass.

Hope you're ready to bid farewell to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, though.
