The children's author David Walliams dropped by longtime publisher.
Acclaimed young adult author and TV personality David Walliams has been dropped by his longtime publishing house, the company has said.
A spokesman for the firm commented: "Upon deliberation, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish additional books by David Walliams."
Reports indicate that the conclusion was taken subsequent to an review of allegations of conduct deemed unsuitable towards women.
The firm did not confirm the motivations for this action, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss confidential company decisions."
A Prolific Publishing History
Walliams ranks among Britain's most best-selling authors for kids, boasting over in excess of 60 million copies worldwide in five dozen languages.
His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins fifteen years ago.
A number of his works, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as small-screen adaptations.
His bibliography includes in excess of 40 works combined, which features a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.
A Dual Career
His initial claim to fame came on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He received an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.
The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
