Chiefs Confirm Domestic Violence Allegations Connected to Wide Receiver Rashee Rice
The Kansas City Chiefs issued a statement Wednesday night indicating they are aware of claims of abuse made public in social media posts by a ex-partner of player the athlete and had been in communication with the NFL.
The organization omitted the name of the player specifically in their statement and stated they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who likewise did not name the athlete directly, shared a set of images on Instagram that seemed to depict signs of physical abuse. She stated the individual in question was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has kids with the football player, whom the team selected in the second round.

No official complaints were on file in the Kansas City suburb where the incident is said to have taken place.
Player's Recent Off-Field Troubles
Rice was absent for the first six games of this NFL campaign following an NFL suspension for his involvement in causing a crash on a Texas roadway that left several individuals injured. He was given a month of incarceration and five years’ probation after pleading guilty to serious offenses.
On the field, Rice finished the year with 53 receptions for 571 yards and five TDs as the Chiefs went with a losing record and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first time in a ten-year span.
