Barça Ready for First Fixture at Upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend
Barcelona have announced they are set to host at the partially upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Basque side in the Spanish league 30 months following their departure so building work could begin.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited but 45,401 spectators are permitted inside based on approved permits. Once fully finished, it will accommodate almost 105,000 spectators, increasing from the former 99,000. Officials confirmed finished work included a new players’ tunnel along with upgraded changing facilities.
Recent Activities
Barça organized a public practice inside the stadium on 7 November. They mentioned approval is being pursued by UEFA to host the next European match facing Eintracht next month in the renovated venue. Their recent games have been held at the Olympic Stadium.
