Aircraft Carrying US Defense Secretary Forced to Land in UK Due to Crack in Windshield
A jet ferrying Pete Hegseth was forced to make an unscheduled landing in the Britain on Wednesday due to a fissure was identified in the jet's front window, according to an announcement which verified that all passengers were secure.
"The aircraft touched down based on standard protocol and all passengers, among them Defense Secretary Hegseth, is unharmed," a spokesperson stated in a public statement.
He was traveling back from a short visit to the city of Brussels at the time.
This event isn't the initial instance that a American defense plane transporting a high-ranking official has encountered equipment failures.
In a previous incident this year, a American military jet carrying the US Secretary of State to the German city of Munich was compelled to return to Washington after encountering a mechanical fault.
